Dear Breckenridge High School Parents:

A provision of the “No Child Left Behind Act” requires that public secondary schools release student lists to military recruiters. The school must provide names, addresses, and phone numbers of all students. Although schools are obligated to do this, parents may request their son or daughter’s name be removed from the list. If you do NOT want your son or daughter’s name included, please send us a dated letter that includes your parent signature.

Recruiters are asked to use good judgement when contacting students and to call during reasonable times, not late at night or on a Sunday. Recruiters are not to pressure students who are not interested in the military. We enjoy positive relationships with the recruiters and it has been our experience the recruiters are professional and ethical with our students.
