Title I is a federally funded program designed to help students who need imporvement in the areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies.

Title I provides supportive services to help students be successful in the regular classroom. Students are referred to Title I based on classroom test scores, checklists, MLPP (Michigan Literacy Progress Profile) scores, MEAP (Michigan Educational Assessment Program) scores, and general classroom performance.

At Breckenridge Elementary we use Title I funds to provide these extra services

  • In-class tutoring for kindergarten-fifth grade classes.
  • Before school multisensory program for first grade.
  • Reading pullout program for first and second grades.
  • Additional instructional support for third grade.
